Donations may be made online and following the directions provided. Progress House also accepts cash, check, credit card, or item donations. Donations may be made in person, by mail, or over the phone (if it is a credit card donation).

Individuals that are interested in donating can either donate on a one-time basis or they may choose to make recurring donations. Recurring donations are a great way to support the mission on an ongoing basis.

Specific Area for Donation

Your donation to Progress House, Inc. supports a variety of needs, including the following:

Scholarships: Once an individual has completed the application and interview process, and passes a drug/alcohol screen, he is admitted to Progress House based largely on his level of motivation to participate in his recovery and his willingness to comply with program guidelines. Although Progress House requests 2 full weeks of residency fees ($350) in advance, many new residents are indigent when they arrive at Progress House. Progress House never declines admission solely on the basis of an individual’s inability to pay. Your donation to the Progress House Scholarship program allows us to support individuals for up to 4 weeks as they gain a foothold in recovery from drug addiction and alcoholism, and until they may find employment and also learn to become financially self sufficient.

General Operating: Although the weekly fee per resident is $185, it costs Progress House $225 per individual resident each week. We rely on foundation and individual donations to make up for the $40 per week shortfall from each resident. Progress House, Inc. receives no 3rd party reimbursement from private insurance, medicaid or medicare. Most of our residents have no insurance, or are ineligible for other 3rd party reimbursements. Besides program fees, Progress House relies on your support, and support from the community to feed, clothe, house, and counsel each resident.

Capital Needs: As with any building, there are various needs that arrise in the normal wear and tear of operations. Donations made to this specific area are designated to help pay for facility upkeep and upgrades such as HVAC, plumbing, food storage/refrigeration units, and any other upgrades or repairs that may be needed within the house. Progress House Next Step program and Permanent Housing are currently in need of multiple upgrades, including doors and windows, furnace upgrades, and parking lot repairs.

Progress House Walk of Fame: The sidewalk leading up to the main entrance to Progress House is lined with decorative pavers purchased by individuals in celebration of sobriety and a new life, or in honor of a loved one. Purchase a brick and add a personalized message of your choosing for $100 or more. A portion of the proceeds (at least $67) will go toward upkeep and future capital improvements of the House. Purchase a brick today and share your personalized message of recovery for all who come to visit or live at Progress House.

Create a Legacy: Gifts of appreciated stock can provide substantial support to Progress House and have a long-term impact on the community to whom we serve. You may benefit from a gift of appreciated assets by deducting the full fair market value of long-term appreciated assests and avoiding tax on capital gain. Charitable gift annuities, charitable remainder trusts, pooled income funds, charitable lead trusts, and gifts of remainder interest in homes and other real estate is another possibility to make the gift of a lifetime while maintaining or enhancing your personal financial situation. Lastly, a gift in your will is still an effective way to make a tremendous contribution to Progress House, while also providing estate tax savings for your heirs. Gifts through wills, revocable living trusts, retirement and savings accounts, life insurance and similar plans can be structured to benefit you, your family, and Progress House.
